All-Around Stars and League MVPs Lead South Shore and Brockton-Area High School Gymnastics All-Scholastics Cast

Grace Whiting of Hingham/Hull has been named the 2025-26 South Shore and Brockton-area Gymnast of the Year, as announced by The Patriot Ledger on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. The sophomore standout earned the honor after being voted Patriot League MVP and securing first place in the all-around at the league championship meet.

Whiting’s season included a 21st-place finish in the all-around at the State Individual Competition and qualification to compete in both all-around and vault at the New England Championship Meet. Her consistent performance helped guide the Hingham/Hull co-op to its second straight Patriot League title and its first-ever berth in the South Sectional Championship.

Grace has been an incredible part of the Hingham/Hull gymnastics team for the past two years. She is humble, kind, hardworking and takes setbacks in stride.

Bridgewater-Raynham and Hingham/Hull were highlighted as top performers in the region, with the Trojans finishing fourth at the South Sectional meet and seventh at the state level. The Hingham/Hull co-op placed 12th at South Sectionals, while Cardinal Spellman, Hanover/Duxbury, Marshfield and Whitman-Hanson also saw multiple gymnasts recognized on this year’s All-Scholastic teams.

The All-Scholastic selection process combines reader votes, which account for 20 percent of the overall tally, with evaluations from four Patriot Ledger staff reporters: Chris McDaniel, Eric McHugh, Ryan Vermette and Jason Snow. Voters award three points for first place, two for second and one for third in each category.

Other notable performers from the season include Kallie McCarthy of Central Catholic, who was highlighted in prior coverage as a team MVP and the reigning all-around state champion from 2025, having qualified for the 2026 all-around individual state title as a freshman.
