Allegations Against Natasha Harding: Nearly £70,000 Lost to Coaching Scandal
Allegations Against Natasha Harding’s Academy
Allegations have emerged against former international footballer Natasha Harding, with up to 70 parents and businesses claiming they lost money through her academy. The total amount suspected to be lost is nearly £70,000.
Parenting and Business Claims
- Reports indicate that parents and businesses from regions like South Wales, North Wales, Gloucestershire, and Worcestershire have experienced losses.
- One parent created a WhatsApp group where claims reached around £40,000.
- Official reports have been made to several police forces, and some cases have been forwarded to Action Fraud.
Coaching Sessions Shortfall
Andy Hughes, a coach for Northop Hall Girls, described his disappointment after Harding promised one-to-one coaching sessions. She signed up twelve players with a payment of £280 each but managed to deliver only two sessions. Following two reported family bereavements, she canceled further sessions, and no refunds were given.
Hughes expressed regret for disappointing the young players who looked up to Harding. He said, “It’s a shame because the coaching she did deliver was good.”
Sponsorship Issues
Daniel Rees, who runs Cardiff Classic Shirts, paid £500 for sponsorship to have his company featured on training gear but has not seen any proof of this. He mentioned that promised Wales match shirts never arrived and remarked on the widespread nature of the allegations.
Kate Parker purchased coaching sessions for her niece totaling £1,335 but received only one session. She has only recovered £350 and still awaits an £885 refund. Parker stated that Harding promised a Wales shirt, which was important for her niece.
No Response from Harding
BBC Wales contacted Harding regarding these claims but received no response.
