Kingston Allen, a standout running back for Green Bay Notre Dame, verbally committed to the University of Wisconsin on April 3, 2026. The four-star recruit chose the University of Wisconsin over other NCAA Division I scholarship offers, which included fellow Big Ten member Northwestern.
Allen’s commitment follows a record-breaking 2025 junior season in which he established new single-season state records for both rushing yards and rushing touchdowns. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound athlete rushed for 3,436 yards and 57 touchdowns during the season, as reported by the Green Bay Press-Gazette.
Historic 2025 Season and Postseason Performance
During his junior campaign, Allen led the Green Bay Notre Dame Tritons to a 13-1 record and an appearance in the WIAA Division 2 state championship game, where the team lost to West De Pere. Allen demonstrated consistent dominance throughout the year, recording 200 or more rushing yards in 10 of the 13 games he played. He missed one contest in Week 4 against Green Bay East due to an injury.

Allen’s impact was particularly pronounced during the Tritons’ five-game postseason run, where he rushed for 1,741 yards and 27 touchdowns. This included a first-round game against Greenfield, where he totaled 477 yards and eight touchdowns, and a second-round game against Slinger, in which he recorded 509 yards and seven scores.
In addition to his state records, Allen was named a First Team All-State selection and the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association co-Offensive Player of the Year.
Gatorade Player of the Year Honors
On December 10, 2025, Allen was named the Gatorade Wisconsin Football Player of the Year. He is only the second non-senior to receive the award in the state’s history and the first since Muskego running back Alex Current was honored in 2019.
Allen is the fourth football player from the Green Bay area to win the award since its inception in 1985. He joins former Bay Port quarterback Alec Ingold (2014), Sturgeon Bay offensive lineman Jake Bscherer (2005), and Southern Door running back-linebacker Jim Flanigan (1989) in the group.
The honor of winning It’s another thing in itself, but being the second junior to ever win it is a phenomenal feat that is such a blessing. It not only means that I’m being rewarded for things that I have done in my junior year, but that also means that I have a chance to win it again. I could be the very first person ever in the state of Wisconsin to win it twice.

Academic and Community Contributions
Outside of athletics, Allen has maintained a 3.60 GPA. He has also engaged in local community service, volunteering with Sleep in Heavenly Peace to make beds for children and working with Warming in the Heart to serve food to the unhoused community in Green Bay.
Matt Binsfield, head coach at Kaukauna High, described Allen as an incredible talent
who is incredibly respectful and plays the game as it is meant to be played.
Allen will begin his senior year of high school in the fall of 2026. He intends to attempt to become the first player in Wisconsin history to be named the Gatorade Player of the Year twice.
