José Altuve, the 34-year-old Houston Astros player, has achieved another historic milestone in his prolific Major League career. On Saturday’s game day, Altuve reached 1,150 runs scored as the Astros beat the Los Angeles Angels 5-3 at Angel Stadium in Anaheim.
With this achievement, Altuve is now tied with Alfonso Soriano in 23rd place on the list of baseball players with the most runs scored since 2000. He is the third player to reach this number since 2011, joining Paul Goldschmidt (1,196) and Freddie Freeman (1,289) on the list.
Altuve had a remarkable game, doubling in the fifth inning and scoring two runs. He then crossed the plate again with a home run by Yordan Álvarez, which turned the score around in the fifth inning and gave the Astros the lead.
