Injury⁢ Updates and Squad changes

Jediah Blades, a 23-year-old right-arm seamer, will replace Shamar ⁣Joseph⁤ in the West ⁤Indies Test squad. Blades is already in the UAE ⁢and will join the team ‍after‍ the third T20I on Tuesday, July⁣ 16th. This change comes after Shamar ‍Joseph was ruled‍ out of the india Tests due ⁢to injury last ‍week, and was later replaced by Johann Layne.

Blades has represented West Indies in three One Day Internationals⁤ (ODIs) and four Twenty20⁣ Internationals ⁤(T20Is). He is⁢ yet to make his‍ Test debut. In⁢ 13 first-class matches, Blades has taken 35 wickets at an average of 35.91.

Impact on West Indies’ Bowling Attack

Joseph’s injury, and ⁢now ⁢the need to integrate Blades,⁢ leaves West Indies with a depleted‍ pace attack heading into the Test series.‍ Jayden⁤ seales is currently ⁣the most experienced seam bowler in the squad, having played ⁣more than ten Tests. The spin ⁤attack‍ consists of Jomel ⁢Warrican, Khary‍ Pierre, and captain Roston Chase.
