Amarnath Yatra 2026 Registration for NRIs and Foreign Nationals

The Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), the authority managing the annual pilgrimage to the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Amarnathji in the Himalayas, has established the registration procedure for Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), foreign nationals, and ex-India pilgrims for the 2026 Yatra.

Advance registration for the pilgrimage is scheduled to commence on April 15, 2026. International devotees are required to follow a specific submission process involving the electronic transfer of documentation and registration fees to designated authorities in Jammu.

Registration Requirements and Documentation

Pilgrims registering from outside India must submit scanned copies of several mandatory documents via email. These requirements include a duly filled application form and a copy of a valid passport.

A critical component of the application is the Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC). According to the official SASB guidelines, the CHC must be issued on or after April 9, 2026, by recognized national health authorities in the pilgrim’s country of residence. The certificate must include the applicant’s photograph, which must be duly attested by the authorized doctor to be considered valid.

The registration fee is set at ₹1,550 per pilgrim. This amount must be paid via international bank transfer to the following account at Punjab National Bank:

On-Ground Logistics and Safety Guidelines

Upon arrival and prior to embarking on the Yatra, every registered pilgrim is required to collect an RFID card from designated locations within the Jammu or Kashmir Division. The SASB has stated that carry your Aadhaar details for collecting RFID Cards is necessary, and the tag must be worn around the neck at all times during the journey for safety and security purposes.

Due to the unpredictable nature of the Himalayan weather, the board has issued specific gear recommendations for all devotees. Temperatures in the Yatra area may abruptly fall below 5 degrees Celsius.

Recommended equipment includes:

• Sufficient woolen clothing
• Umbrellas, raincoats, and wind cheaters
• Waterproof shoes
• Waterproof bags for clothes and eatables
