Amazon Health Services Reorganizes After Executive Departures

Amazon is restructuring its health division, Amazon Health Services, to streamline operations. The company will divide the service into six new business units, each overseen by a designated executive.this strategic shift comes after several recent departures of key leaders.
The six divisions, internally called “pillars,” and their respective leaders are: One Medical Clinical Care Delivery, led by Andrew Diamond, MD, PhD; One Medical Clinical operations and Performance, overseen by Suzanne Hansen; Amazon Health Services Strategic Growth and Network Development, headed by John Singerling; Amazon Health Services Store, Tech and Marketing, led by Prakash Bulusu; Amazon Health Services Compliance, overseen by Kim otte; and Amazon Health Services Pharmacy Services, led by John Love.
The company stated that the reorganization will not result in any layoffs. However, the move follows the exits of several high-ranking executives. These include Wine Gupta, MD, former chief medical officer of Amazon Pharmacy, who left in February, and Trent Green, former CEO of one Medical, who departed in April.
Two previously unreported departures include Aaron Martin, vice president of healthcare, and Sunita Mishra, MD, chief medical officer of Amazon Health Services. Martin indicated in a memo that he woudl remain temporarily to assist with the transition.
Amazon has no plans to appoint a new CEO for One Medical following Green’s departure. The company is focused on solidifying its role in the healthcare sector, enhancing its health services offerings, and driving strategic growth thru this new structure.
