Amazon’s Prime Video will become the exclusive local streaming home for six NHL teams under a multiyear agreement announced Wednesday. According to the NHL, the platform will carry regional broadcasts, including pre- and post-game coverage, for the Carolina, Anaheim, Columbus, Dallas, Minnesota and St. Louis teams within their respective home markets. The partnership adds local team coverage to Prime Video’s existing sports catalog. In-market fans can watch games at home or on the go across thousands of compatible devices using the Prime Video app, while out-of-market viewers retain access through NHL Center Ice, according to league announcements.
Broadening Local Access and Team Flexibility
The arrangement gives individual clubs the flexibility to meet audience demand as regional sports broadcasting evolves. That point was emphasized by NHL Chief Media Officer and Senior Executive Vice President David Proper.

Proper noted that the partnership creates new opportunities for clubs to reach fans and deliver a premium regional viewing experience. The NHL previously announced in July that it would handle production for the Hurricanes, Blue Jackets, Wild, and Blues. Prime Video head of sports partnerships Charlie Neiman stated that the streaming service has established itself as a primary destination for live sports.
We’re excited to build upon our strong relationship with the NHL and provide fans with more ways to connect with the local teams they love.

Expanding NHL and Regional Sports Offerings
This agreement builds on a broader relationship between Amazon and the league. Earlier in the summer, Amazon secured a 12-year deal to exclusively broadcast Wednesday night national regular-season NHL games in Canada in both English and French, along with significant postseason coverage. The platform’s local sports portfolio also includes distribution deals for the Seattle Kraken, MSG Networks, CHSN, NESN, Peacock NBC Sports Network RSN’s in Boston, Philadelphia and Bay Area, SNY, YES Network, and Marquee Sports Network. Fans can stream games via the web or through the Prime Video app on smartphones, tablets, set-top boxes, game consoles, and connected televisions. Additional local team agreements are expected to be announced as final terms are settled, according to NHL.com.
