Reasons for the Decline

The ⁣meaningful⁢ decline in profit is primarily attributed to a higher base effect stemming from significant tax gains recognized in the october-December quarter of fiscal ⁤year 2025. In Q3 FY25, Ambuja Cements and it’s subsidiary, ACC, benefited from‌ a favorable high court order that allowed ‍them to reassess prior‍ tax liabilities.

Specifically, Ambuja cements recorded a write-back of ₹1,179.71 crore, while ACC recorded ₹516.84 crore, both related to tax adjustments from⁤ earlier periods. ⁢ Additionally, Ambuja Cements received a cash refund of ₹203.17 ‍crore with an‍ interest of ₹25.60 crore following ‌the court’s decision.

Financial Details

The company’s profit⁣ after⁣ tax for the October-December quarter of‌ FY25 stood at ₹2,662.97 crore, as detailed in ⁢a regulatory filing. The favorable tax adjustments in the prior year created a challenging comparison for the current⁤ quarter’s performance.
