AMD Unleashes the Power: Introducing the Simplified Ryzen AI 9 300-Series and a Game-Changing Laptop Processor

In addition to revealing that the RDNA and CDNA display architectures will be unifiedBrand new UDNAIn an interview with Computer Base, Jack Huynh, AMD senior vice president and general manager of the company’s compute and graphics group, revealed that the upcoming consumer processors will be codenamed “Krackan Point” and the new model is expected to be called Ryzen Z2 Extreme. It is a processor specifically designed for use in portable products.

AMD’s upcoming consumer processors that are expected to launch include the previously announced “Fire Range” entry-level processor and the “Strix Halo” intended for high-end models. They will also include the Ryzen AI 9 300 series processors, a simplified version of “Krackan Point,” and the actual name could be Ryzen AI 7 300 or Ryzen AI 5 300 series.

As for the specifications, “Krackan Point” is expected to use 4 sets of CPUs designed with Zen 5 architecture, paired with 4 sets of CPUs designed with Zen 5c architecture. Additionally, 8 sets of GPUs with RDNA 3.5 display architecture with compute units (. CU) and NPU compute units with XDNA 2 architecture with power up to 50 TOPS.

As for the next products of the mobile processors, Jack Huynh revealed in an interview with the website Digital Trends that the Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor will be released at a faster pace. He also revealed that the usage time of the mobile processors will be significantly increased from the current approximately 45 minutes to 3 hours.

Additionally, there are recent reports that Sony may use AMD processors in the PlayStation series to gain design advantages for the gaming experience. It may use the new AMD processors to recreate a new portable gaming console, which could become the PlayStation Portable (PSP) or the successor to the PlayStation Vita model, but it is currently unconfirmed whether it will use the Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor and whether this product will exist.
