US Presidential Election: Over 25 States Begin Voting
As of 7 a.m. Eastern Time, more than 25 states have started voting for the presidential election, according to CNN. The states that have just started voting include:
- Alabama (some polling places follow Eastern Time and will open at 7 a.m. Eastern Time, but most polling places follow Central Time and will open at 8 a.m. Eastern Time)
- Delaware
- Washington D.C.
- Florida
- Georgia
- Illinois
- Kansas (due to time zones, some polling places open at 8 a.m.)
- Maryland
- Massachusetts (city or town options open as early as 5:45 a.m. ET)
- Michigan (due to time zones, some polling places open at 8 a.m. ET)
- Missouri
- Pennsylvania
- Rhode Island
- South Carolina
- Tennessee (Polls with a population over 120,000 must open by 7 a.m. ET)
