American and Frontier Planes Collide at Boston Logan Airport

On November 25, 2024, an American Airlines plane collided with a Frontier Airlines aircraft at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS). The incident occurred at Terminal E. The American Airlines flight 109 had just arrived from London’s Heathrow Airport (LHR) when it clipped the wing of a parked Frontier Airlines plane.

The Frontier flight was preparing for departure to Dallas with 200 passengers on board. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported among passengers or crew on either flight.

Massport, the airport authority, confirmed that the collision was minor and occurred at a slow speed. Both airlines issued apologies for the inconvenience caused to their passengers. The American Airlines plane has been taken out of service for inspection.

Similar Incidents

This incident is not isolated. On September 11, 2024, an American Airlines Airbus A319 and an Envoy Air Embraer E170 also collided at Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD). The American flight had landed and was waiting to reach its gate when the Envoy flight was taxiing.

Additionally, in September 2024, two Delta Air Lines aircraft collided at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) during taxi operations. Both events were similar in nature, with no injuries reported.
