One passenger at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) reported their flight from Miami landed early but waited nearly an hour for a gate.

The same passenger said the pilot announced that other American Airlines flights had been waiting on the tarmac for three hours, but FAA regulations required them to return to the gate.
