American Airlines Boosts Winter Travel Options with New and Expanded Routes
FORT WORTH, Texas (March 31, 2025) — American Airlines is set to expand its service this winter, offering travelers new and increased flight options to popular warm-weather destinations and select European cities.
New international Routes
Beginning Nov. 8, American will inaugurate service between Oklahoma City (OKC) and Cancun, Mexico (CUN). The route will operate once a week, marking the first international service from OKC to Cancun on American Airlines.
Expanded Caribbean Service
Four new routes to punta Cana, Dominican Republic (PUJ), will commence dec. 6. These Saturday-only routes will connect Punta Cana with:
- Indianapolis (IND)
- Nashville (BNA)
- Pittsburgh (PIT)
- Raleigh-Durham (RDU)
Hawaii Flights Resume and Increase
Travelers heading to Hawaii will see expanded options as well. The airline will resume its Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) to Kona (KOA) route and increase the number of flights to Kahului, Hawaii, prior to Thanksgiving.A winter service between Chicago (ORD) and Honolulu (HNL) will also be available.
South American Options
For those planning trips to South America, American Airlines will offer four daily flights from Miami (MIA) to Buenos Aires, Argentina (EZE), this winter. Service between Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) and São Paulo, Brazil (GRU), will also increase to up to 10 weekly flights.
European Routes Extended
Passengers traveling to Europe in the autumn and winter months can take advantage of extended seasonal summer service to Athens, Barcelona, and Dublin.
