American Beauty Steakhouse Expands to The Grove: New Location Launching November 30, 2024
American Beauty Steakhouse Opening at the Grove
American Beauty, a popular steakhouse from Venice, is opening a second location at The Grove on November 30, 2024. The Grove is a well-known shopping mall in Los Angeles, situated near the Original Farmer’s Market and owned by Rick Caruso. This new branch will replace the former Wood Ranch barbecue restaurant. It offers a spacious dining room, an outdoor patio, and will serve lunch and dinner, just in time for the holiday shopping season.
About American Beauty
Established in 2019 on Rose Avenue in Venice by Paul Hibler, Jeff Goodman, and Bruce Horwitz, American Beauty specializes in almond wood-grilled steaks sourced from top farms, including Flannery, Creekstone Farms, and Santa Carota. The steakhouse faced some labor challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic but also successfully launched a burger spot called the Window, which has several locations now, including Venice and Hollywood.
Atmosphere and Design
The new location features a horseshoe-shaped bar and an indoor-outdoor patio with fire pits and lounge seating. The interior, designed by Frederick Fisher and Partners, combines modern elements with charming decor, including green wood panels and antique-style furniture. It’s designed to accommodate larger groups with six-top banquettes. Wine refrigerators display a selection of bottles to pair with the meals.
Menu Highlights
The menu, created by co-chefs Elisha Ben-Haim and Evan Hickey, offers a mix of rustic California and classic steakhouse dishes. Starters include grilled prawns with herb butter and chicken liver mousse with persimmon. The main steak options feature grass-fed Santa Carota New York strip and 30-day dry-aged Flannery porterhouse, accompanied by sides like shoestring fries and sharp cheddar mac and cheese. Each steak is served with a simple herb salad. For dessert, diners can enjoy warm apple pie for two with buttermilk ice cream. The Grove location will also introduce lunch and brunch options, featuring dishes like a bluefin tuna grain bowl and challah French toast.
