American Horror Story brings back Fiona Goode and revives Marie Laveau

American Horror Story season 13 aired episodes 7 and 8 on Thursday night on FX and streaming the next day on Hulu, bringing back former Supreme Fiona Goode and uniting the coven against a demonic threat linked to Mr. Nas.

The Witches Face Revived Serial Killers at Miss Robichaux’s Academy

Episode 7, titled The Baddest Witch of Them All, picks up immediately after Hotel proprietor James Patrick March murders Supreme Cordelia Goode. A group of historical serial killers breaches Miss Robichaux’s Academy, prompting the coven to fight back.

Madison Montgomery and Queenie carve and roast Jeffrey Dahmer, while Mallory uses her time-travel power to send Richard Ramirez back to his old neighborhood in Boyle Heights, where an angry mob beats him to death. Meanwhile, Coco and Queenie use magic and a sugar spike to send the Zodiac Killer into a fatal diabetic crisis.

After defeating the trio of killers, Fiona Goode returns from hell after being summoned by a spell. Fiona commands her revived historical henchmen to butcher March before she kills the trio herself. Morwenna fails to resurrect Cordelia, but Fiona revives Cordelia with a whispered spell, leading to a brief reunion message: You summoned me. You needed me, and I came.

Fiona and Cordelia Uncover the Devil’s Sigil in Episode 8

Episode 8, titled Hell No, features a mother-daughter bonding scene between Cordelia and Fiona, where the former Supreme shows uncharacteristic kindness and expresses regret over her past treatment. Weakened from her murder, Fiona imbues Cordelia with strength to become a Supreme for the ages and tasks the coven with finding out who brought the monsters back from the dead.

Cutting open the Nightstalker reveals black sludge and a white snake, which Cordelia and Fiona recognize as the Devil’s sigil dating back to the Garden of Eden. Acting on Fiona’s advice to befriend the Devil’s friend, Cordelia enlists Queenie to conjure Papa Legba.

Papa Legba Demands Marie Laveau in Exchange for Help Against Satan

When Cordelia offers Papa Legba Fiona’s resurrection, the gatekeeper agrees to help with the Satan issue in exchange for destroying the revival spell and bringing back Marie Laveau. While Fiona offers to return to hell, Cordelia refuses because they need her to deal with Marie.

Queenie volunteers to take her place in hell, enduring an eternal shift at a fried chicken restaurant where she serves Delphine LaLaurie and fries her face in revenge. Papa Legba then revives Marie Laveau, and the witches unite to face the Devil and Mr. Nas.

Many, many times in the history of this show, I’ve been called to set because Jessica’s like, ‘I don’t like that, I don’t want to say that.’ ‘Knotty pine’ is a perfect example of that.TV Insider
