US Citizen and Navy Soldier Detained in ⁢Venezuela

Venezuelan prosecutor Tarek William Saab confirmed on Thursday that‍ a US citizen, who is also a military personnel, was recently⁣ detained in ​the country.

Saab revealed during a​ press conference that the individual, who holds dual US and Mexican nationality, entered Venezuela without proper documentation⁣ or support.

“He entered without any kind of documentation and without ⁢support regarding what he came to do in the country,” Saab stated.

The prosecutor emphasized that the detained individual will undergo a fair trial, with an objective, independent, and impartial investigation.

“We are always attentive and vigilant to ensure due process,” Saab ⁤said, adding that he could not provide further details at this​ time.

The United States has confirmed the detention, stating that the‍ Navy soldier was on a⁢ personal trip when he ‌was taken into custody.

The White House has contacted Venezuelan authorities to gather more information about the case.
