Amnesty International has accused the United States of a “systematic attack” on human rights, while also criticizing Germany for shortcomings in its human rights record in its annual report published in April 2025.
The organization stated that the United States is carrying out a systematic assault on human rights, citing policies and practices that undermine fundamental freedoms and democratic norms both domestically and in its foreign policy.
Regarding Germany, Amnesty International noted that the country deported 83 individuals to Afghanistan and one person to Syria in 2025, actions that violate the principle of non-refoulement under international law, which prohibits returning individuals to countries where they face serious threats to their life or freedom.
