Amol Phadke Steps Down from CTO Role
Amol Phadke has resigned as Group CTO of Telenor for personal reasons. Telenor released a brief statement acknowledging Phadke’s contributions and expressing gratitude for his service. The company particularly highlighted his work in advancing Telenor’s technology initiatives in Cloud, AI, IT, and open networks.
New Leadership at Telenor
Benedicte Schilbred Fasmer will take over as President & CEO of Telenor starting December 1. She will succeed Sigve Brekke, who has led the company since 2015. Under Brekke’s leadership, Telenor has outperformed the S&P European Telecommunications index by 50% on a dividend-adjusted basis and achieved consistent mobile service revenue growth in the Nordic region.
Cathal Kennedy as Acting CTO
Cathal Kennedy has been appointed Acting Group CTO. He aims to advance Telenor’s focus on AI and Cloud technologies. Kennedy joined Telenor in 2014 and has held key roles, including SVP Cloud and AI. He has experience overseeing IT in Nordic and European operations and driving transformation initiatives.
Recent Changes in Management
Phadke’s resignation follows the recent departure of Yogesh Malik, who left his position as CTIO of Tele2 Group, which is undergoing changes in leadership.
