Fernandes and Mainoo Recovering from Injuries

Manchester United manager⁣ Ruben Amorim initially feared a prolonged absence for captain Bruno Fernandes after the‍ player sustained a soft tissue injury during Sunday’s defeat against ‌aston Villa. However, Amorim has since indicated that the injury is not as severe‍ as first thought.

Speaking ⁢ahead of the St. Stephen’s Day match against Newcastle, Amorim stated that neither Fernandes nor⁢ Kobbie Mainoo,⁢ who suffered a calf problem and missed‌ the Aston villa⁢ game, would be available for the Newcastle fixture. He added ‌that both players are “recovering” and he doesn’t believe their absences will be ⁣lengthy.

Amorim‌ believes Kobbie Mainoo will return to play faster than Bruno ⁤Fernandes. When pressed for a specific timeline on Fernandes’ return, ‍Amorim declined to provide one, stating,‌ “I ⁣don’t want to say, I have an idea but let’s see.”

Upcoming Fixtures and Team Confidence

Manchester ⁣United faces a crucial run of fixtures following the ⁢Newcastle game, including matches against Wolves, Leeds, Burnley, and Brighton,⁤ before challenging back-to-back games against manchester ‌City and Arsenal. The team has only won two of their last eight league matches.

Despite recent struggles and current injury concerns, Amorim expressed confidence in his team’s ability to win any game. He stated, “I am confident we ⁤can win any game,” and emphasized his trust in the players, even in the absence of several ⁣key personnel.
