Tonight, the Bravo Caffè will host Valentina Mattarozzi and her quartet, “La Dolce Vita Jazz Quartet,” at 10 p.m. Mattarozzi, an eclectic songwriter known for her blend of jazz, blues, and pop-rock influences, will lead the performance. Fuzz Band Celebrates Johns Hopkins University at Via Mascarella Club
Saturday, the club on Via Mascarella will feature the Fuzz Band in a performance celebrating the 70th anniversary of Johns Hopkins University’s European branch. The band includes Alan Kuperman, a professor at the LBJ School of Public Affairs in Austin, Texas, on vocals and guitar; Michael J. Plummer, former Rector of Johns Hopkins University of Bologna, on drums and choirs; Steven Williams, a doctor, on bass and choirs; and Michael Brusha, an Italian-American saxophonist well-known in Bologna’s jazz circles. The set list will feature rock ‘n’ roll hits.
Carlo Maver Quartet at Bentivoglio Cellar
also tonight at 10 p.m., the Bentivoglio Cellar presents the Carlo Maver Quartet with “The Music of the Port.” Bandoneonist Carlo Maver leads this group in exploring original compositions influenced by tango, Mediterranean, and African sounds. The performance promises improvisation and a search for a collective sound. Joining Maver are Joe Pisto on guitar and vocals, Andrea Taravelli on electric bass, and Roberto Rossi on drums and percussion.
Camera Jazz & Music Club spotlights Orchestra’s ‘Music of Change‘
