The Zeyrek Çinili Hamam, one of Istanbul’s oldest Turkish baths, has reopened its doors after a thirteen-year transformation, offering visitors a unique blend of Ottoman history, byzantine heritage, and contemporary art.

Commissioned by the legendary Ottoman admiral Hayreddin Barbarossa and designed by the renowned architect Mimar Sinan, the Zeyrek Çinili Hamam, meaning “tiled bath,” was constructed between 1530 and 1540. Its name reflects the exquisite blue and white tiles that once adorned its walls,many of which now reside in prestigious international collections like the British Museum and the V&A.

After years of neglect, the Marmara Group embarked on a meticulous restoration project, enlisting local architects KA-BA to breathe new life into this architectural treasure. The result is a stunning cultural complex that seamlessly blends the past and present.
