Ancelotti Hails Vinicius’ Selfless Act: The Unlikely Hero Who Stepped Aside for Mbappe
Carlo Ancelotti on International Break and Real Madrid’s Performance
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has expressed his concerns about the first international break of the season after round 4 of the Spanish Football League.
Ancelotti stated that the international break is not ideal for the team, as it will result in the absence of key players, particularly those traveling to South America, who may struggle upon their return.
“I only hope that nobody gets injured, because that is the biggest danger, and the pressure of the match is normal,” added the Italian coach.
Confidence in the Team’s Ability
Despite fluctuating results at the start of the season, with two draws against Mallorca and Las Palmas and two wins against Real Valladolid and Real Betis, Ancelotti seems confident in his side’s ability.
“We are not worried or disappointed, but we have great motivation to try to do better,” Ancelotti emphasized. “We got a well-deserved win against Betis on Sunday evening to enter the international break with a positive atmosphere.”
Teamwork and Consistency
Ancelotti highlighted that his team lacks consistency, stating, “Sometimes, we lost matches without justification, and I confirm that teamwork was – and will be – the key to success, but scoring goals is the end of our problem.”
Kylian Mbappe’s Performance
Ancelotti also discussed Kylian Mbappe’s performance, who scored twice against Betis to break his goal drought in the first three rounds of the league championship.
“We didn’t put any pressure on Mbappe to score,” Ancelotti said. “He played a good match, and worked as a team with his teammates, and his team-mate Vinicius Junior coped wonderfully to let him take the penalty kick, so Mbappe scored a goal. Second goal.”
“Scoring goals is important for Mbappe, but what is more important is to evaluate the teamwork, where he performed better than in the last match,” the Real Madrid coach concluded.
