Andrade‘s WWE Departure: A Sudden End to a Promising Run
The wrestling world was surprised this weekend with the news of andrade’s departure from WWE after a year and a half with the company. Details surrounding his exit are now beginning to surface, painting a picture of a sudden and perhaps unexpected end to his time in the sports entertainment giant.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select initially reported the news, noting that the former NXT champion and WWE United States Champion had been removed from WWE’s internal rosters and quietly moved to the Alumni section of the company website. This move promptly sparked speculation and questions about the circumstances surrounding his departure.
The timing of Andrade’s exit is especially noteworthy. He was recently involved in a tag team program with Rey Fenix and even participated in the high-profile Six-Pack Tables, Ladders, and Chairs tag match for the WWE Tag Team Championship at SummerSlam. This active involvement made his sudden departure all the more surprising.
While initial speculation suggested a possible mutual parting of ways, sources within WWE have clarified the situation. The Takedown on SI has learned that Andrade was, actually, released by the company, and the decision was not a mutual one. This revelation adds a layer of intrigue to the story, suggesting that the WWE brass may have had a change of plans for the talented wrestler.
Adding to the mystery, sources indicate that Andrade had not been backstage at TV tapings for nearly a month prior to the proclamation. Furthermore, multiple talents were informed on saturday that the 35-year-old had been let go.
It remains unclear whether Andrade requested his release, as he did back in 2021. However, sources have emphasized that this departure was not related to the budget cuts that have plagued WWE in recent years. The exact reasons behind the release remain somewhat unclear, and the fact that WWE typically doesn’t offer contracts as short as a year and a half further complicates the situation.
Andrade’s departure leaves a void in the WWE roster. His talent and charisma were undeniable, and many fans were eager to see what he would accomplish in the company. As more details emerge, the wrestling community will undoubtedly be watching closely to see what the future holds for this gifted performer.
