Andrew Garfield Adds ballymaloe Cookery School to His Bucket List
Cork, Ireland – Hollywood star Andrew Garfield has revealed his culinary aspirations, naming teh renowned Ballymaloe Cookery School in East Cork as a dream destination.
In a recent interview with Today FM’s Dave Moore, Garfield, known for his roles in “The Amazing spider-Man” and “Tick, Tick… Boom!”, expressed his love for cooking, especially for others. “I love cooking. I really do enjoy it, especially for other people,” he shared. “I love a Sunday roast or spaghetti bolognese.”
While Garfield admitted he’s “more of a fan of food than anything,” he confessed a desire to hone his skills at Ballymaloe. “There’s this amazing cookery school in Ireland that I’ve been dying to go to,” he said. ”I’ve been dying to do it, it’s on the bucket list.”
Garfield envisioned a future where he coudl immerse himself in the Ballymaloe experience,”Hopefully,maybe a little bit later in life,when I’m really slowed down I can come [to Ireland] and refine my skills there and be in the chefs garden and farm and stuff like that… it would be fun.”
He described the school as “absolutely like some kind of heaven,” praising its beautiful grounds and farm.
Established in 1983 by Darina Allen and her brother Rory O’Connell, Ballymaloe Cookery School has attracted a host of celebrities over the years. Recently, the school announced that “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here” contestant and retired reverend Richard Coles will be joining the Ballymaloe Festival of Food next summer. Coles, who took a short course at the school earlier this year, will host interviews, participate in panel discussions, and engage with attendees.

Garfield was notably drawn to the school’s idyllic setting and commitment to fresh, locally-sourced ingredients, describing it as ”absolutely like some kind of heaven.”
