Google’s Android 16 could include ​a feature to adjust HDR intensity, addressing user concerns⁢ about excessively bright​ screens. The move follows⁢ Samsung’s introduction‍ of⁣ Super HDR with the Galaxy S24, which,⁤ while enhancing the HDR experience, has been criticized by some for being too ​intense.

The⁢ potential new setting, dubbed enhanced HDR brightness, was discovered in the Android 16 QPR1 release ‌by the Telegram channel ​Mystic Leaks. This feature would allow users to enable or disable ⁤Ultra HDR and fine-tune the⁢ HDR ⁢brightness to their preference using a slider, with a⁤ live preview of the changes.
