Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham Hotspur, expressed confidence that fans will miss his exciting football style when he leaves. He stated that Spurs wouldn’t have beaten Manchester City 4-0 if they had been more defensive.

This season, Tottenham has had ups and downs. They have had impressive wins, like the one against City, but also surprising losses, including one to Ipswich Town. Recently, they drew 2-2 with Roma in the Europa League, showcasing their attacking play.

Currently, Tottenham has a goal difference of +14, second only to league leaders Liverpool. Despite this, they sit in sixth place in the Premier League, three points behind Arsenal in fourth. Postecoglou emphasized his commitment to an attacking style of play, refusing to adopt a more defensive approach.

He stated, “There’s a place for pragmatism, but I’m not interested in it.” He believes that if Tottenham had played pragmatically while leading against City, they would not have achieved such a memorable win. He wants to explore the potential of the team rather than settle for a conservative strategy.

Postecoglou also praised Dejan Kulusevski’s performance against City. Kulusevski provided the assist for James Maddison’s first goal and demonstrated exceptional running and pressing. Postecoglou highlighted Kulusevski’s hard work, recovery rates, and mental strength as key to his success.

Looking ahead, Postecoglou indicated that Tottenham is unlikely to have injured players return for their match against Fulham on Sunday. Cristian Romero may recover in time, but Micky van de Ven is ruled out.
