Angelina Jolie to Star in Alice Winocour’s New Movie ‘Stitches’
Oscar winner Angelina Jolie will star in the film Stitches, directed by Alice Winocour. The production will be led by Charles Gillibert’s company, CG Cinema, in collaboration with Pathe Films. This film marks another partnership for Winocour with Pathe after her previous project, Paris Memories. This film premiered at Cannes and earned actress Virginie Efira a Cesar Award.
Winocour’s earlier film, Proxima, featured Eva Green as an astronaut preparing for an extended mission on the International Space Station. Green’s performance garnered her a Cesar nomination.
Jolie is currently receiving attention for her role as Maria Callas in the movie Maria, produced by Fremantle, Apartment, and Netflix. Directed by Pablo Larrain, the film holds a 77% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Jolie also directed Without Blood, a film that premiered at TIFF. This western-inspired movie stars Salma Hayek and Demián Bichir. It tells the story of a woman who survives a massacre of her family and later confronts the murderer. The film is based on a novel by Alessandro Baricco.
