comics, as well as various other popular Italian comics from the 1960s through the 1990s, has died at the age of 79.
Born in Fragagnano, in the province of Taranto, in December 1945, Todaro moved to Rome in the early 1960s to attend art school. He began his career as a designer for Co.F.edit, creating stories such as Gordon Schott and Dog. He then joined Fratelli Spada publishing house, which published Italian-made stories of U.S. characters. This led to a fruitful collaboration where he drew many stories of Mandrake

, and Rip Kirby
, sometimes using the pseudonyms Paul Bennett and Todd.
