Angers SCO Injury Updates & Dujeux on Rennes Link Ahead of Lorient Clash
Angers Sco will be without several players for their Ligue 1 match against Lorient on Sunday, February 15th, at 5:15 PM. Coach Alexandre Dujeux revealed at a Friday training session that several players sustained injuries during the week. “We had a few knocks this week in training. There was commitment, but we’ll see on the eve of the match, tomorrow (Saturday). We’ll keep an expanded squad to protect against any absences,” Dujeux stated, referring to Louis Mouton and Prosper Peter, both of whom are affected.
Mouton was seen jogging on Friday, while Peter remained indoors.
Belkebla OK, Harouna Still Diminished
Hervé Koffi and Florent Hanin were also absent from training due to illness.
Haris Belkebla, who was sidelined against Toulouse with an ankle sprain, has been training normally for the past two days and is expected to play. Djibirin Harouna, who has been struggling with a pubic bone injury and also missed the match against Toulouse, trained separately from the main group. “He consulted a specialist in connection with our medical staff,” Dujeux said. “He’s been having somewhat truncated weeks for some time now, so he’s currently in a recovery program.”
Dujeux on Rennes’ Interest: “I am focused on my end of season”
Earlier this week, reports from L’Équipe linked Alexandre Dujeux with a move to Stade Rennais, who are searching for a new coach following the dismissal of Habib Beye, though Franck Haise is expected to be appointed. “It will be him,” Dujeux smiled. “After that, the fact that my name is associated with such a club is rewarding. For Sco, for my team, for my players, for the work we do. But I am focused on my end of season, on my group, on what we can do. Notice thirteen matches left and plenty of good things to experience.”
Dujeux also expressed his frustration with the team’s current situation, particularly the lack of new signings. According to a report following Angers’ 1-1 draw with Rennes, Dujeux appeared disheartened in a post-match press conference, stating that without any new players, he doesn’t believe he can maintain a positive dynamic within the team.
Angers Sco was also recently ordered by the Court of Appeal to pay approximately €385,000 to their former doctor, Anthony Tondut.
