The third Animar_BCN Congress will take place in Barcelona, gathering around 90 delegates from 60 European organizations linked to the animation industry. This includes producers, policymakers, investment funds, and broadcasters. Delegates will represent 24 European countries.

Objectives of the Congress:

The event aims to analyze the European animation landscape, focusing on the industry’s entire value chain and collaboration across European territories.

Key Discussion Topics:

1. Impact of Artificial Intelligence:

   A working group will discuss how AI affects intellectual property, production processes, and professionals in the animation industry.

2. Green Animation:

   Stakeholders will review sustainability initiatives and evaluate the creation of a European environmental standard for the animation sector.

3. Legal Framework:

   A group will focus on the implementation of the Audiovisual Media Services Directive (AVMSD) and its implications for independent producers and intellectual property rights.

4. European Co-Productions:

   This topic will cover public funding, minority co-productions, and tax incentives. A session titled “Let’s Talk Europe” will highlight successful European collaborations, using case studies to illustrate points.

Event Conclusion:

The outcomes from the four working groups will be presented during a public session at Blanquerna-Ramon Llull University on the morning of 28 November.
