Animo Industries aims to capture the playful, chaotic fun of classic multiplayer games like Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros., offering an accessible alternative to the darker, more serious trend in the competitive shooter genre. The game’s colorful town, cute pilots, and over-the-top action are designed to appeal to a broad audience with varying skill levels.

“When we first conceived the idea of cute pet animals piloting powerful mechanical juggernauts,we knew we had the possibility to make something special in the shooter space,” said Diego Santana,Animo’s executive producer. He added the game aims to recapture “the lighter and more accessible tone of classic multiplayer Nintendo games.”
“Animo Stars Arena” is the first title from Animo Industries, a studio comprised of veterans from companies such as Activision, Crytek, Epic, Guerrilla Games, and WB Games. The team shares a commitment to creating engaging competitive game experiences.
Dave Miller, Animo’s CEO, said the team has been working hard to make “Animo Stars Arena” a unique experience. He added that they are already planning a more ambitious game that will allow players to design and trade their own pilots, mechs, and battlescapes.
the Kickstarter campaign seeks to raise $350,000 to complete the game, with a planned launch in the first half of 2026. Supporters can contribute to the Kickstarter campaign and download the demo on Steam.
