Anna Calvi: New EP ‘Is This All There Is?’ Features Iggy Pop, Laurie Anderson & Matt Berninger

Anna Calvi is preparing to release a new EP, , titled Is This All There Is?, the first installment in a planned trilogy of new music. The project is notable not only for its introspective themes but also for a striking list of collaborators including Iggy Pop, Laurie Anderson, Perfume Genius, and The National’s Matt Berninger.

The EP features “God’s Lonely Man,” a collaboration with Iggy Pop, which was released alongside a music video directed by Luigi Calabrese and Dominic Easter, filmed in Pop’s adopted hometown of Miami. Calvi described Pop’s contribution as “disruptive, raw and honest — a singular force,” adding that “His presence was so perfect for the narrative of this song.” The pairing is a testament to Calvi’s willingness to push creative boundaries and seek out collaborations that challenge conventional expectations.

Beyond Pop, Calvi’s vision for Is This All There Is? extends to a radical reimagining of Kraftwerk’s “Computer Love” featuring Laurie Anderson, and the EP’s title track, a collaboration with Matt Berninger. This diverse range of collaborators speaks to Calvi’s broad musical interests and her ability to connect with artists from different generations and genres.

Calvi’s approach to this EP was significantly influenced by her experience scoring the final two seasons of the acclaimed television series Peaky Blinders. She explained that the work altered her creative process, prompting her to think of her songs as “mini films” and to explore a more cohesive narrative across an entire collection of songs. This shift in perspective is evident in the EP’s thematic unity and its ambition to present a larger story through its individual tracks.

The release of Is This All There Is? marks a significant moment in Calvi’s career, coming six years after her last full-length album, 2018’s Hunter, which reached No. 22 on the Official U.K. Chart. The intervening years have been marked by personal transformation, most notably the experience of becoming a mother. Calvi has spoken candidly about how motherhood has reshaped her perspective on life and art.

“Having a child was so transformative it made me consider the possibility that everything in life could potentially shift, and that is scary but incredibly freeing,” Calvi stated. “I didn’t want to take anything for granted any more. I want to exist in the best way for my child. I wanted to ask the most basic human question — is this all there is?” This question forms the emotional core of the EP, driving its exploration of themes of uncertainty, vulnerability, and the search for meaning.

The EP’s title itself, Is This All There Is?, reflects a broader existential inquiry that resonates with a generation grappling with complex questions about purpose and fulfillment. Calvi’s willingness to confront these questions head-on, both in her music and in her personal life, is a testament to her artistic integrity and her commitment to creating work that is both deeply personal and universally relatable.

In addition to her work on the EP, Calvi is also contributing to the upcoming War Child charity album, HELP(2), with a song titled “Sunday Light.” The track features collaborations with Ellie Rowsell of Wolf Alice, Nilüfer Yanya, and Dove Ellis, further demonstrating Calvi’s commitment to using her platform to support important causes.

The release of Is This All There Is? signals a new chapter for Anna Calvi, one marked by artistic ambition, personal growth, and a willingness to embrace collaboration. The EP’s exploration of profound themes, combined with its impressive roster of collaborators, positions it as a significant release in the 2026 musical landscape. The fact that it is the first in a planned trilogy suggests that Calvi is embarking on a long-term artistic project with a clear vision and a commitment to pushing the boundaries of her creative expression.

The EP’s release in will be closely watched by both critics and fans, eager to see how Calvi’s evolving artistic voice will shape the future of her music. The project’s success will likely hinge on its ability to connect with audiences on an emotional level, offering a compelling response to the fundamental questions that Calvi herself is grappling with.
