Anna Wintour Honored at Tory Burch Foundation Breakfast | Vogue

Anna Wintour, global editorial director of Vogue and chief content officer of Condé Nast, was honored at the Tory Burch Foundation’s second annual Founders Breakfast on Thursday, April 30, 2026. The event, held at The Pierre Hotel in New York City, also recognized three women entrepreneurs with the Founder Award.

The breakfast, attended by 380 guests including Martha Stewart, Amanda Seyfried, and Huma Abedin, celebrates women entrepreneurs and the Tory Burch Foundation’s commitment to increasing women’s economic power. Tiffany Dufu, president of the Tory Burch Foundation, highlighted the foundation’s impact, noting that Tory Burch Fellows have generated $470 million in economic impact toward a goal of $1 billion by 2030, and have created over 2,000 jobs.

Dufu also announced an expansion of the Fellows program, increasing the number of participating entrepreneurs from 50 to 120 this year, and planning to reach 160 next year. According to Dufu, 91 percent of Fellows credit the foundation as key to their success. More than 700,000 people have utilized the foundation’s Online Learning Center, and 20,000 business owners participated in webinars last year.

Honorees and Recognition

In addition to Wintour, the Founders Breakfast honored Viola Sutanto, founder of bags and accessories brand Maika. Andrea Seymour, co-founder and CEO of Springdale Custom Builders; and Pilar Guzman, founder of Half Moon Empanadas. Seymour’s recognition is particularly notable as she leads as one of the few women in the construction industry.

Tory Burch presented the final Founder’s Award to Jennifer Pitt, granddaughter of Olive Ann Beech, the late co-founder of Beech Aircraft Corporation. Burch noted the parallels between Beech and Wintour, stating that both women possessed “a backbone of steel” and were “brilliant entrepreneurs.”

Burch further elaborated on Wintour’s impact, stating that she doesn’t just start companies, but “transforms institutions.”

Foundation’s Continued Growth

The Tory Burch Foundation, founded in 2009, aims to empower women entrepreneurs through access to capital, education, and mentorship. The Foundation’s Fellows program provides resources and support to women-owned businesses, helping them scale and achieve financial success. Supporters of the breakfast included Bank of America, Amy Griffin, Simone, Bloomberg Philanthropies, and The Lee Family Trust.

The event underscored the foundation’s commitment to fostering a more equitable entrepreneurial landscape for women, with a focus on driving economic impact and creating opportunities for growth. The success of the Tory Burch Fellows, exceeding $1 million in annual revenue at ten times the national average for women-owned businesses, demonstrates the effectiveness of the foundation’s programs.
