Wintour,who is British-born,will retain her positions as head of Vogue globally and chief content officer of condé Nast,which owns several media brands,including Vanity Fair,GQ,Allure,Condé Nast Traveler,and Wired. The change will allow her to focus on these broader responsibilities.
This move concludes Wintour’s 37-year tenure as editor of American Vogue, a position she has held since 1988. She is widely considered one of the most influential women in publishing.

Along with her editorial role,Wintour has also overseen the Met Gala,the annual New York fundraiser known for its celebrity attendees,since 1995.
