Violent Altercation in Annapolis Leaves One Hospitalized, Three Arrested

February 4, 2026 – A violent incident in Annapolis on Tuesday afternoon resulted in one person being hospitalized and three individuals facing criminal charges, according to Annapolis Police.

Officers responded to the 400 block of Captain Circle at approximately 4:31 p.m. Following reports of shots fired. Investigators determined that a dispute had erupted in a parking lot between the victim and two individuals known to them. The situation escalated, leading to a firearm being discharged and the victim subsequently being stabbed.

The victim was transported to a local trauma center and is currently listed in stable condition. Authorities have not released the victim’s age or identity.

Three arrests have been made in connection with the incident. Charles Sean Aaron Robinson, 18, of Annapolis, has been charged with attempted second-degree murder and related offenses. Emerson Manuel Hernandez, 17, also of Annapolis, is facing similar charges, and is being charged as an adult with attempted second-degree murder, firearm use in a felony/violent crime, and related charges.

George Garrett III, 55, of Annapolis, was arrested and charged with obstruction/hindering and possession of a firearm.

Acting Police Chief Amy Miguez praised the swift response of emergency services and the cooperation of the public. “The combination of helpful information from callers to 9-1-1, our emergency dispatchers relaying important information to officers, and the response of our officers led to the quick apprehension of the two attempted murder suspects,” Miguez said in a press release. “Our detectives continued the investigation immediately, which led to the recovery of the firearm we believe was used in the shooting. Fortunately, no one was struck by gunfire, but the impact on the community can’t be overlooked. I’m really proud of the diligent and rapid response of our emergency services teams.”

The investigation remains ongoing. Police are urging anyone with information regarding the incident to contact detectives at 410-260-3439.

This incident underscores the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement in addressing violent crime within the community. While authorities were able to quickly apprehend suspects in this case, the underlying causes of such disputes remain a concern.

The quick response by Annapolis Police, aided by information from 9-1-1 callers and dispatchers, was instrumental in preventing further injury. The recovery of the firearm used in the shooting is also a significant step in the investigation, according to police officials.

The charges against the three individuals represent a serious escalation of the legal consequences for those involved in violent acts within the city. The decision to charge the 17-year-old as an adult highlights the severity of the alleged crimes.
