Anne Burrell, the platinum-blond Food Network star known for her wit and culinary talent, has died. She was 55. Burrell, a beloved chef and television personality, passed away June 17 at her home in Brooklyn, N.Y., according to a statement from her representatives.
Burrell was a familiar face on the Food Network for two decades. Before hosting “Worst Cooks in America” starting in 2010, she appeared on shows such as “Iron Chef America,” “Chef Wanted,” and “Chopped.” Moast recently, the culinary talent competed on “House of Knives,” which premiered in March 2025.
Her family described the Food Network star as a “beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother, and friend,” adding that her influence extended far beyond her immediate circle. A cause of death was not released.
A Food Network spokesperson said Anne Burrell was a remarkable person who always shared the importance of food and the joy a delicious meal can bring. The network extended its condolences to Burrell’s family, friends, and fans.
