[미디어투데이=안상일기자] Ansan City announced on the 13th that it is recruiting candidates for the ‘2025 Internet of Things (IoT) measuring device attachment support project’ in order to improve the air environment and resolve the financial difficulties of small and medium-sized businesses in the city.

This project is being carried out to improve the atmospheric environment, including fine dust. This project, which started in 2022, has benefited 160 businesses in the region with a total project cost of 1 billion won until this year. The city is proceeding with the project ahead of schedule to prevent delays in the Internet of Things (IoT) measuring device installation project and to properly execute the government subsidy project. The total project cost is approximately 900 million won.

Businesses that can apply are small and medium-sized businesses located within the jurisdiction that have type 4 or 5 air emissions facilities in accordance with the Clean Air Conservation Act. ▲If you are in arrears with national or local taxes; ▲If you are insolvent or have applied for initiation of bankruptcy/rehabilitation procedures; ▲If your business is on hiatus or closure; etc. are excluded from support.

Applicants can prepare submission documents and visit the Industrial Complex Environment Department of the Industrial Support Headquarters from the 18th of this month to the 6th of next month. The final selection of recipients is planned to be made through the subsidy review committee in January next year. If you are selected for support, you can receive support for 90% of the installation cost of Internet of Things (IoT) measuring devices (no quantity limit within the budget).

Businesses only need to operate the subsidized facility for at least three years and transmit the measured data through the Internet of Things (IoT) measuring device to the ‘Small-Scale Air Emission Facility Management System.’

Bae Soon-cheol, head of the Industrial Support Headquarters, said, “We plan to implement proactive environmental policies at a preventive level rather than focusing on crackdowns and regulations,” and added, “We ask for the voluntary participation of businesses in the area to improve the air environment.”
