Visionary saxophonist and bandleader Anthony Braxton marks his 80th birthday on June 4 with a series of new and previously unreleased recordings. Despite a vast catalog dating back to the 1960s, Braxton’s innovative sound continues to captivate a dedicated following.
Among the recent releases is “Quartet (England),” a collection of recordings from a 1985 tour featuring Marilyn Crispell on piano,Mark Dresser on bass,and Gerry Hemingway on percussion.
