Anze Kopitar meets Boxing Legend Dejan Zavec

Los angeles Kings captain Anze Kopitar, a prominent figure in the world of hockey, recently connected with another sports legend: retired Slovenian boxer dejan Zavec. The meeting,captured in a photo shared by Kopitar’s wife Ines on Instagram,shows the two athletes enjoying each other’s company at an outdoor cafe in Slovenia.
The image features Kopitar and Zavec smiling side-by-side. Kopitar offered a fist bump, while Zavec pointed toward the NHL star. Ines Kopitar captioned the photo “Legends,” tagging both athletes.

Zavec, nicknamed “Mr. Sympathicus,” held the IBF welterweight title after defeating Isaac hlatshwayo in 2009. He defended the title three times before losing to andre Berto in 2011. He retired in 2015 with a professional record of 35 wins, 4 losses, and 1 no contest.

The Kopitars’ connection with McLaren extends to a friendship with CEO Zac Brown.The relationship began after Kopitar saw Brown in the Netflix series “Drive to Survive” and invited him to a Kings game. The two families have since spent time together in Los Angeles and on a ski trip.
“We stayed in touch and then he had an extra few days, so he came to visit us and go skiing [in Mammoth],” Kopitar said in an interview with Mayors Manor.
“He and his wife Ines, what a great family they have,” Brown said. “They came to vegas and then we spent a splendid weekend in the mountains, hanging out with the kids and had some friends over. We had tons and tons of laughs.”
Ines Kopitar also congratulated McLaren on securing its first Constructors Championship in 26 years, showcasing the close bond between the two families.
