Apple Updates App store Pricing, Tax Policies for Global Developers

Apple has announced adjustments to it’s App Store pricing and tax policies, impacting developers worldwide. The changes, designed to maintain consistent pricing across its 175 storefronts and 44 supported currencies, reflect fluctuations in tax regulations and foreign exchange rates.
Effective in October, developers in Nepal and Kazakhstan saw increased proceeds after Apple ceased remitting value-added tax (VAT) in those regions. In Madeira, a reduced VAT rate from 5% to 4% for news publications, magazines, books, and audiobooks also boosted earnings.
Pricing adjustments took effect Dec. 2 for the Japan and Türkiye storefronts, impacting apps and in-app purchases not based in those regions.Apple uses publicly available exchange rate data to ensure fair pricing across all regions.
The company said developers who have selected Japan or Türkiye as their base will not see price changes.Prices for auto-renewable subscriptions and storefronts with manually managed pricing also remain unchanged.
