Apple Unveils New iPhone 16 Series, iWatch, and AirPods, with a Focus on AI and Hardware Upgrades
Apple has officially released its new iPhone 16 series, iWatch Series 10, iWatch Ultra 2, and the new AirPods series, featuring significant upgrades in AI, hardware, and design. According to Minsheng Securities, Apple’s investment in end-side generative AI is expected to drive a new wave of mobile phones this year and next.
Apple’s New Product Lineup
Apple’s new product lineup includes:
- iPhone 16 series, with starting prices ranging from $799 to $1,199, featuring an upgraded A18 chip, ultra-wide-angle + integrated main camera, and a titanium appearance for the Pro series.
- Apple Watch Series 10 and Watch Ultra 2, with starting prices of $399 and $799, respectively, focusing on large area and light weight, with aluminum metal and polished titanium metal being 10%/20% lighter than the previous generation products.
- AirPods series, with updates to the entire series, including AirPods 4 starting at $129, AirPods Pro 2 starting at $249, and the new color AirPods Max starting at $549.
AI-Driven Hardware Upgrades
Apple Intelligence, as the core of the personalized AI system, requires high computing power chips and memory to accommodate large models. Apple customized the A18 for the iPhone 16, using the latest 6-core CPU and desktop-level GPU architecture. The energy efficiency is significantly improved compared to the previous generation.
The heat dissipation structure and materials of iPhone 16 have been upgraded, with a 100% recycled aluminum metal heat dissipation substructure. With the continuous iterative upgrade of the AI end-side model, Minsheng Securities predicts that many of Apple’s design innovations next year will focus on heat dissipation, and the iPhone’s heat dissipation solution will usher in changes.
