Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2025 showcased the company’s latest software innovations, including a meaningful redesign and new features for iPhones, iPads, MacBooks, Apple Vision pro, Apple Watch, and Apple TV. The event highlighted the new iOS 26, featuring a Liquid Glass redesign, a unified version numbering system, and a dedicated Gaming app.
The conference kicked off with a promotional video featuring Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of software engineering, emphasizing Apple’s commitment to innovation. public betas for the new operating systems will be available in July, with the first developer beta for iOS 26 already accessible.
Liquid Glass Redesign
The Liquid Glass redesign, inspired by VisionOS, brings a translucent aesthetic to Apple’s operating systems. This design overhaul, the first since iOS 7, features lens-like appearances, specular highlights, and dynamic movement that changes with the viewing angle. Navigation behavior has also been updated to complement the new look.
iOS 26 Features
iOS 26 introduces a unified layout for communications, integrating Phone and FaceTime. The new Call Screening feature identifies callers before ringing, while Hold Assist keeps calls connected in the background until someone answers. Interface elements are more dynamic, with features readily accessible.
The new Gaming app centralizes Arcade and the user’s game library, offering features like Play Together for managing co-op and group challenges. Developers can leverage this to transform single-player games into group experiences.The app also supports controller use.
