Senior Brunch Supports Local ⁢Silver Spring Restaurant

More than 30 senior residents from The Bonifant at Silver Spring⁢ enjoyed‍ a special Thai brunch ⁣catered⁢ by‍ Kook Kai, a family-run restaurant in downtown ⁣Silver Spring. Hosted by MHP Community Engagement Specialist‍ Brownette Suku,the event aimed to raise awareness of the ⁢impact of ‍Purple line Light Rail ⁤construction on local businesses and provide opportunities for seniors to explore local dining options. Residents were pleased to discover that one of the restaurant’s founders was a fellow resident ⁣of The bonifant.

MHP’s Explore ⁣Bonivant program⁢ supports‍ local businesses affected by the Purple Line⁣ construction, encouraging community members to visit Bonifant Street and discover new dining locations.

World Water Day Celebrated in Montgomery County

The Wheaton Community⁣ Center in Montgomery County hosted its first World Water Day party,featuring a pinata created by local women from the Wheaton community. ⁣The event supported the United Nations’ World ⁢Water Day mission to raise awareness about the‍ 2.2 billion⁣ people worldwide without access to safe freshwater.
