Cyclone to Weaken into Low Pressure: Heavy Rains Expected in Kerala
Thiruvananthapuram: The Central Meteorological Department has forecast widespread rainfall in Kerala for the next seven days as the cyclone over the northern Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify to extremely low pressure.
Low Pressure Area in Southwest Uttar Pradesh
A low pressure area is located in southwest Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department said that the extreme low pressure moving in a northwesterly direction is likely to weaken by tomorrow.
Rainfall Expected in Kerala
The Central Meteorological Department also said that the low pressure has reduced from Karnataka to the south coast of Gujarat. Kerala is likely to receive light to moderate rains in the next few days, but no special rain warning has been issued. The cyclone is located over Myanmar and Bangladesh.
Heavy Rains Expected in Isolated Areas
Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam and Ernakulam districts are likely to experience heavy rains at isolated places. The Meteorological Centre has also warned that people living on the seashore should exercise caution and fishermen should reduce their sea outings as there is a possibility of a sea attack.
