Cairo – The Arab League reaffirmed its unwavering stance against terrorism during a meeting Tuesday between Secretary-General ahmed Aboul Gheit and a high-level Indian delegation. Aboul Gheit emphasized that all counter-terrorism measures must align with international law.
The meeting, attended by Indian Ambassador to Egypt Sorech Reddy, underscored the historical ties between Arab nations and India.Aboul Gheit stressed the importance the Arab League places on strengthening these relations.
He referenced memoranda of understanding signed in 2008 and 2013, which established the Arab Indian Cooperation Forum. These agreements aim to enhance cooperation between India, the Arab League, and its member states across various sectors.
The Indian delegation provided a detailed overview of India’s firm policy against terrorism, particularly following the April terrorist attack in Kashmir. The delegation asserted that India’s “Sandur operation” targeted cross-border terrorism and aimed to dismantle its infrastructure.
