‘Arcane’ Production Assistant Criticizes AI-Generated Trailer as Lacking Artistic Value

A production assistant from “Arcane” criticized an A.I. trailer for the show on social media. The assistant, @Lordupe, said the A.I. version “doesn’t add anything concrete or artistic.” He expressed discontent, stating that the team of artists worked hard for years to create beautiful visuals, and the A.I. approach shows a lack of respect for their work.

The video in question was produced by Dzine AI, a company that focuses on A.I. visual creation. This company has since removed the video.

Director James Gunn demonstrated similar criticism towards an A.I. trailer made by fans. He posted about it on social media, implying the A.I. content was lacking quality and coherence. He had previously criticized an A.I.-generated image of actor David Corenswet as Superman, highlighting numerous flaws in the image.

“Arcane,” which ended after its second season released in November, features intense battles and character deaths. The storyline includes significant developments for key characters like Vi, Jinx, and Mel. There are hints that spin-off shows might be considered based on the series’ conclusion.

Created by Christian Linke and Alex Yee, “Arcane” is based on the “League of Legends” game. It tells the story of two sisters, Vi and Jinx, as they deal with their beliefs and technology in the cities of Piltover and Zaun.
