Rauschenberg Foundation Announces 2026 Archives Research Residency
Overview
The Rauschenberg Foundation is accepting applications for its 2026 Archives Research Residency, offering scholars, artists, and researchers the possibility to delve into the extensive archives of Robert Rauschenberg. The residency provides access to a comprehensive collection of materials documenting the artist’s life and work,housed in studios in Florida and New York. The archives also contain unique resources related to arts organizations, art movements, and collaborative projects Rauschenberg participated in.
Residency Details
The residency is open to applicants at the graduate level and above who demonstrate a clear need to utilize the Foundation’s archival materials firsthand. Applicants must not have received prior grant funding from the Foundation within the last three years. All individuals eligible to travel within the United States are encouraged to apply.
Priority will be given to self-reliant researchers and those affiliated with institutions possessing limited resources. former and current staff and consultants of the Rauschenberg Foundation are ineligible. Those who do not qualify or are not selected are welcome to pursue research appointments independently.
Residency sessions
The 2026 residency will be offered during three distinct sessions:
- Spring: April 20 – May 15, 2026
- Summer: June 29 - July 17, 2026
- Fall: September 28 – October 23, 2026
