ArcLight Capital Partners has increased its investment in the Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America (NGPL), acquiring an additional 25% interest through its managed fund. This move elevates ArcLight’s economic ownership to 62.5%, positioning it as the primary owner of this critical natural gas infrastructure system. Kinder Morgan, Inc. maintains a 37.5% stake and will continue to oversee NGPL’s operations.
The Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America is one of the largest interstate pipeline networks in the United States. Its 9,100 miles of pipeline traverse nine states, delivering essential energy to power, heating, and liquefied natural gas (LNG) markets, particularly in Texas and Louisiana. NGPL’s infrastructure includes compressor stations with a combined one million horsepower and 288 billion cubic feet of storage capacity, ensuring reliable natural gas access from key U.S. basins. This strategic asset plays a vital role in the natural gas pipeline sector.
