Hong Kong’s Aristo Sham Wins Van Cliburn Piano Competition
Aristo Sham Ching-tao, the first pianist from Hong Kong to secure a gold medal in the prestigious Van Cliburn Piano Competition, has voiced his appreciation for the strong support he has received from his home city. The Van Cliburn is known as one of the world’s most challenging music competitions.
speaking from New York,Sham conveyed his surprise at the outpouring of support following news of his win in the Van Cliburn piano competition. Despite living abroad as the age of 14, Sham maintains close ties to Hong Kong.
sham spends most of his time in New York and Sweden, where he has studied with a professor as 2017. He returns to Hong Kong three to four times annually to visit his parents.
